Yesterday, on March 3, 2026, people across the world witnessed the rare ‘blood moon’. The Moon appeared in a deep red colour, and the stunning sight was visible not just internationally but also from many parts of India. Here are some amazing pictures from the day!
First Lunar Eclipse Of The Year
On the occasion of Holi, people got to witness the first lunar eclipse of the year, and it was truly special! So, what made it different? On this day, the Earth came between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon and turning it a stunning red colour.
The eclipse began at 3:20 pm and lasted until 6:47 pm. The best part? People didn’t need any special equipment to enjoy the view. However, how clearly it was visible depended on the skywatcher’s location.
In India, people couldn’t see the beginning of the eclipse because it had already started before the Moon rose. By the time the Moon appeared in different cities, the eclipse was already underway. That’s why everyone saw it at slightly different times.
