Indian Railways has introduced a brand-new Vande Bharat Express connecting Sabarmati in Gujarat with Gurgaon in Haryana. This is part of the railways’ push to provide faster and more comfortable travel options across the country. The train will run as a one-way special service between these two important cities for now. It is operated and maintained by the Western Railway (WR) zone.
New Vande Bharat Train Between Sabarmati And Gurgaon
The new service is aimed at reducing travel time while providing passengers with the modern comforts of India’s semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains. It is also expected to make travel easier for passengers from Gujarat and Rajasthan, while boosting connectivity to northern India.
As per the Indian Express reports, the Sabarmati–Gurgaon Vande Bharat Special, train number 09401, will begin its commercial journey on Sunday, October 5. To start with, the train will first run for just two days, on October 5 and 6. Passengers will have a comfortable overnight trip as the train travels 897 km in about 14 hours and 55 minutes. Travellers can leave Sabarmati in the evening and arrive in Gurgaon early the following day.
Set To Transform Travel Experience

The train will run via Jaipur, one of Rajasthan’s most famous cities. It will make stops at eight key stations along the route:
- Mahesana Junction
- Palanpur
- Abu Road
- Marwar Junction
- Ajmer
- Jaipur
- Alwar
- Rewari
Travellers from Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Haryana can easily take advantage of these stops to enjoy a quicker, more comfortable ride on a contemporary train. According to the Indian Express, on October 5 and 6, the train will leave Sabarmati at 5:30 pm and reach Gurgaon at 8:25 am the next morning.
There are two different seating classes available on the Vande Bharat Express:
- AC Chair Car: ₹2,250
- Executive AC Chair Car: ₹4,145
Both classes provide air conditioning, cosy seating, and contemporary amenities to enhance the joy of long-distance travel. Executive AC passengers enjoy a more luxurious travel experience with more room and comfort.
This new train is part of India’s growing network of semi-high-speed trains. It will facilitate quicker, easier, and more comfortable travel between Gujarat and Haryana. By running through major cities like Jaipur and Ajmer, it also opens up new travel possibilities for passengers across western and northern India.
