IndiGo Pilot Flies Nani For The First Time
IndiGo pilot Shruti (@livininversatility) recently took to Instagram to share a wholesome moment. The IndiGo pilot flew her grandmother for the first time from Pune to Delhi, calling it a moment she will cherish forever. While commanding the flight, she made a special announcement onboard, letting passengers know why the journey was especially meaningful to her.
As she introduced herself and shared details about the flight, the video cut to her nani, who was beaming with pride as she told a co-passenger that the pilot was her granddaughter. “My nani is travelling with me for the first time. It’s a moment of immense joy and pride for me,” she added, as the cabin filled with applause.
“15 years ago, I went to my Nani’s home to prepare for the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi entrance. 10 years after securing my first job with Air India, I’ve gotten this beautiful opportunity to bring life full circle. Last week, I flew my Nani from Pune to Delhi in the IndiGo aircraft I was the captain of. An ode to all the family, friends, teachers, seniors and colleagues over the years, for their immense support and encouragement. This moment shall remain with me for a long long time,” the post’s caption read.

The internet showered love on the IndiGo pilot’s post about flying with her nani. While many congratulated her, others pointed out that it was an equally proud and emotional moment for her grandmother too.
