The Sri Sri Rukmini Dwarkadhish Temple, popularly known as ISKCON Dwarka, will celebrate Rath Yatra on July 16 with a unique Mango Festival. More than 11,000 kg of mangoes will be offered to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balaram and Devi Subhadra. Here’s everything you need to know.

ISKCON Dwarka To Celebrate Rath Yatra With A Mango Festival

Get ready to celebrate Rath Yatra at ISKCON Dwarka on July 16. This Mango Festival will feature 108 varieties of mangoes, including Indian varieties such as Alphonso, Langda, Safeda, Dasheri, Kesar, Chausa and several regional favourites. These 11,000 kg of mangoes will be offered to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balaram and Devi Subhadra. After the ceremonial offering, the mangoes will be distributed as Mahaprasadam to devotees throughout the day.

The celebrations will begin at 8 am with a spiritual narration of the divine appearance of Lord Jagannath. After that, a Maha Abhishek will be performed using sacred water brought from the sacred well at Jagannath Puri, which is believed to embody the holy confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. The morning programme will also include a Vedic Yagna, devotional kirtans, bhajans, scriptural discourses and other rituals.

Rath Yatra Will Begin At 4 PM

The Rath Yatra, which is the highlight of the celebrations, will begin at 4 pm. Thousands of devotees are expected to participate in pulling the beautifully decorated chariot of Lord Jagannath and seek the blessings of the divine siblings. The temple will serve Mahaprasadam, featuring traditional Odia offerings associated with Lord Jagannath.

The celebrations will conclude with a grand Maha Aarti, followed by the distribution of prasadam. The temple will also organise a Mango Eating Contest for devotees, adding a festive element to the celebrations.

Speaking about the celebrations, Gaur Prabhu, Vice President, ISKCON Dwarka, said, “Mangoes hold a special place in our cultural and spiritual traditions and are among the fruits most cherished by Lord Jagannath. Through this Mango Festival, we seek to celebrate not just the abundance of nature, but also the timeless values of devotion, gratitude and sharing that define our spiritual heritage.”
