In an unfortunate incident, 10 Indian army personnel lost their lives after a bulletproof army vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a 200-foot gorge in the Doda region of Jammu and Kashmir. Several others were injured and rushed to the nearby hospitals for immediate medical assistance.
Army Vehicle Falls Into Gorge In J&K’s Doda
On Thursday, an army vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda. According to Deccan Herald, 17 army personnel were travelling to a high altitude post in a bulletproof vehicle, a Casspir, when the unfortunate incident took place.
The vehicle skidded at Khanni top along the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road. As soon as the news broke out, the Army and local administration teams rushed to the spot. Rescue efforts were launched immediately despite the difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions.
Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha took to X and said, “Deeply saddened at the loss of lives of 10 of our brave Indian Army soldiers in an unfortunate road accident in Doda. We will always remember the outstanding service and supreme sacrifice of our brave soldiers. My deepest condolences to the grieving families.”

10 Army Personnel Killed In The Incident
In a follow-up tweet, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha shared, “In this moment of profound sorrow, the entire nation stands united with the bereaved families in solidarity and support. 10 Injured soldiers have been airlifted to the hospital. Directed the Senior officials to ensure the best possible treatment. Praying for their speedy recovery.”
As per the latest update by NDTV, 10 army personnel were killed and several were injured after the vehicle plunged into a gorge in J&K.
