India’s Ambassador To China Inspects Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Facilities

India’s Ambassador to China, Vikram Doraiswami, recently completed the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and shared his overall experience. Along with his team, he visited the region to inspect facilities and review preparations for the pilgrims expected to undertake the yatra this year. He and his team visited key entry points used by Indian pilgrims like Nathu La in Sikkim and Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand.

During their visit, they inspected accommodation facilities, reviewed kitchen arrangements, and visited medical centres along the route. The team also coordinated with Chinese authorities to ensure transport and security arrangements.

What Tips Should Travellers Follow?

Along with mentioning all the facilities available for travellers, Vikram also shared some important tips to follow. 

  1. Be prepared for high altitudes, as most of the route is above 3,500 metres and the Parikrama reaches up to 5,600–6,000 metres.
  2. Watch out for breathing difficulties and other health issues caused by low oxygen levels.
  3. Carry waterproof trekking shoes and avoid open footwear, as the weather can change quickly.
  4. Pack warm clothes and rain gear to stay comfortable in changing weather conditions.
  5. Protect yourself from strong ultraviolet rays by carrying sunglasses, sunscreen, and other sun protection.
  6. If you have heart disease, diabetes, or any chronic illness, consult your doctor before undertaking the yatra.
  7. Avoid littering and help keep the sacred region clean and environmentally protected.
