Karnataka Bandh Announced On August 13
According to The Economic Times, a statewide Karnataka bandh has been called for August 13, from 6 AM to 6 PM, which could affect public transport, shops and commercial establishments. The bandh has been called by Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj, who has urged various sections of society to support the protest. Organisers claim that more than 2,000 pro-Kannada organisations have backed the call. The protest centres around the Cauvery water dispute and demands related to the Mekedatu, Mahadayi and Kalasa-Banduri projects.
