A Gujarati thali is one of the most special parts of Indian cuisine, and mind you, it is not that easy to make. Making this thali requires preparing seven to 10 elaborate dishes with high prep work. But a chef from London, UK, recently gave it a shot and made an authentic Gujarati thali complete with Gujarati Kadhi and Masala Khaman, leaving Indians totally impressed.
London Chef Makes An Authentic Gujarati Thali
Jake Dryan is a chef from London, UK, with over one million followers on Instagram. He specialises in home cooking, especially some amazing Indian recipes. For his recent video, the London chef tried his hand at making an authentic Gujarati thali, and honestly, foodies are impressed. He started off by grinding a paste using a mortar and pestle to make Gujarati Kadhi and then moved on to prepare Parwal Nu Shaak, a spiced vegetable curry made with parwal. It is considered one of the healthiest dishes in an authentic Gujarati thali.
After that, Jake started his preparations for Masala Khaman, a snack made from besan. The chef then proceeded to make Gujarati Dal with a solid tadka, rotlis and even aamras, which looked quite refreshing and thick. At last, he plated everything on a thali before digging into it.
