A doctor from Mumbai faced the exact same issue recently with Zepto Cafe, which has sparked a discussion online regarding ordering food from food delivery apps. Here’s what happened.
Mumbai Doctor Finds Dead Cockroach In Chole From Zepto Cafe

Zepto Cafe is a special part of the app that delivers freshly made snacks, coffee, meals and more. A doctor from Mumbai, Srushti Bukane, recently ordered chole from the app and allegedly found a dead cockroach in it.
She took to Instagram and shared with her followers that she did not have time to cook that day. She had only brought some rice from home and decided to order chole from Zepto Cafe at her clinic, which she likes. But when she was about to take the first bite, she spotted the dead bug on her spoon. Srushti also said that she considered herself lucky that she happened to look at the spoon instead of mindlessly taking the bite.

Zepto Responds To The Viral Video
The doctor also wrote, ” A dead cockroach at this time is highly diabolical. Utterly disgusted and honestly have lost my appetite,” under the video, calling the incident “unacceptable”. She also shared that she had raised a complaint, and the agent had escalated the matter and would look into it. Zepto also responded to the now-viral video and asked Srushti for her order details so they could get the issue sorted.
Naturally, netizens were furious as many people now frequently order food from food delivery apps, and no one wants to face these kinds of issues. One user wrote, “Oh gosh that’s disgusting,” while another commented, “Diabolical.” A third Instagram user even wrote, “Food safety control needs to make sure that the stores are clean, hygienic and deliver safe food.” And honestly, we agree with this comment!
