Lucknow To Launch Double-Decker Darshan Bus From January 7; Prices, Time & Other Deets Inside

Good news. Lucknow is all set for a new sightseeing experience. The Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) plans to launch a Lucknow Darshan double-decker bus from January 7. The service will offer city tours and cover major tourist attractions. Here is everything you need to know about the route, timing, price, and more.

Double-Decker Bus For Lucknow Darshan

If you are planning to visit Lucknow to experience its culture and explore its top tourist spots, this is for you. Your Lucknow Darshan will soon get easier as UPSTDC prepares to roll out double-decker buses for city tours. According to a report by The Indian Express, the authorities gave the project a green signal after a successful two-day mock drill. The drill was conducted to check the feasibility and make last-minute changes. It concluded with a test ride involving 46 passengers.

The double-decker bus will offer a curated tour of Lucknow’s most iconic landmarks. This includes an exclusive visit to Vidhan Sabha Bhavan, historical sites like The Residency and Sibtainabad Imambara, and even the newly developed Food Valley. The total duration of the Lucknow Darshan tour will be three hours, and the ticket will cost ₹500.

Morning And Evening Routes

An official from UPSTDC shared with The Indian Express that regular city tours will begin on January 7 through the Lucknow Darshan Electric Double-Decker Bus. There will be morning and evening rides. The morning tour will start from 1090 Chauraha in Gomti Nagar at 8:30 am and conclude at 11:30 am. The evening tour will begin at 4 pm and conclude at 7 pm at Food Valley. 

The route will criss-cross the city and cover key landmarks. Tourists can expect stops at Raj Bhavan, GPO, and Hazratganj market.  According to officials, the proposed route will also include Ambedkar Park and UP Darshan Park, after passing through Begum Hazrat Mahal Park and Globe Park. Light refreshments will be provided during the tour.
