While heavy rainfall has made it difficult for people to step out and has caused flooding in several areas, the state has now faced another concern, earthquakes. Earthquake Tremors Felt Across Maharashtra Regions
On Thursday morning, multiple regions in Maharashtra experienced earthquake tremors. As per Mid-Day, the tremors were reported in Hingoli, Nanded and Parbhani districts between 1:37 AM and 3:23 AM. The repeated earthquakes within a short period caused panic among residents, especially as many people were still asleep.
The District Emergency Operations Centre said that three earthquake tremors measuring 4.6, 3.6 and 3.9 on the Richter scale were recorded during this time. Officials said the earthquakes originated near Shirli village in Basmat taluka of Hingoli district.

Authorities Assess The Damage
After the earthquake, officials checked the affected areas for any damage. Thankfully, no one was injured, and no property was damaged. Reports also showed that houses, buildings and other structures were safe.
The earthquake caused concern among residents. Mid-Day reported that as earthquakes cannot be predicted in advance, Hingoli District Collector Rahul Kardile advised people to move to open areas if they feel any further tremors. For precaution, authorities have placed emergency response teams, fire services and medical units in Hingoli, Nanded and Parbhani on alert.
As for the rainfall in Maharashtra regions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall alerts for several districts. Nashik, Palghar, Raigad, Pune and Satara are under a red alert. A yellow alert has been issued for Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli.
