You know how people say even the smallest act of kindness can change someone’s life? That’s exactly what happened in this heartwarming incident. A man booked a flight for a Zomato delivery partner after he got to know that his mother had been admitted to the ICU. Thanks to the thoughtful gesture, the rider was able to reach her in time. Later, he even kept the man updated on his mother’s condition.

Man Buys Zomato Rider A Flight Ticket To Help Him Reach Home

Ankit Pandey (@iamankitpande) took to X to share how “changing someone’s life doesn’t take millions of rupees” but just some noticing and a little help. He shared that when he ordered food through Zomato, the order came with a rider who had delivered food to his home several times before.

After handing over the order, the rider hesitantly asked if he could have a glass of water. As the man invited him inside, Ankit noticed the delivery partner‘s red, teary eyes and asked if everything was alright. The rider then revealed that his mother had fallen down the stairs earlier that morning and had been admitted to the ICU in critical condition.

He went on to share that the next train to his hometown was scheduled for 11 PM and that the journey would take nearly 30 hours, leaving him worried about reaching her in time.

When the man asked if the delivery guy had eaten anything, he learned that the rider hadn’t had a meal all day. He then invited him to share lunch before looking for a faster way to get him home. After searching online, Ankit found a flight for around ₹4,000 and immediately booked the ticket for the Zomato rider.

The delivery partner shared that he had never been to an airport before, but Ankit reassured him that a friend would be there to help him navigate the journey.

Rider Tries To Return The Money, But The Man Refuses

A few hours later, the Zomato rider reached his hometown and was able to meet his mother. He later called the man to express his gratitude and shared that doctors were optimistic about her recovery, saying she was expected to recover within the next 12 to 24 hours.

In a follow-up tweet, Ankit shared that the delivery man called him up the next day and said, “Bhaiya…mummy ab danger se bahar hain. Doctor ne kaha 4-5 din mein ghar aa jayengi.”

The man shared that the next day, the Zomato rider returned the entire ₹4,000 that had been spent on his flight. But Ankit refused to take the money and transferred the money back, asking the delivery agent to use it for his mother’s treatment, medicines, and hospital expenses instead.

“Sometimes, the greatest return on money isn’t getting it back. It’s knowing you helped someone be where they were needed the most. Some blessings never appear in your bank account. They stay in your heart forever,” Ankit concluded his post.
