Working in the aviation industry often means spending less time with family, including parents and siblings. But for two siblings from Manipur, their careers have brought them closer. The brother-sister duo now work together as cabin crew with Air India, enjoying each other’s company during the breaks. Read on to know more!

Two Manipur Siblings Working With Air India

Air India recently shared an adorable story of siblings from Manipur, Wahengbam Sureiya and Rohit Singh. Sureiya started her journey in aviation in 2014 and was the first in their family to choose aviation as a career. She chose this path to travel, meet new people and experience a different kind of work.

Rohit, her younger brother, was inspired by her stories about flights, new destinations and life as cabin crew. He also decided to choose the same career. Now, the brother-sister duo work for the same airline.

How Do They Spend Time Together?

Being Air India cabin crew is not always about glamorous destinations. Long-haul flights, changing rosters, airport standbys and time away from home are all part of the job. Luckily, Sureiya and Rohit understand these challenges because they both live the same routine.

For the siblings, working together has made their bond even stronger. They now swap stories from work, support each other, and even learn from each other’s experiences.

Rohit especially enjoys those days when their standby duties bring them to the same airport. They make the most of the free time by catching up, teasing each other, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

One of their funniest Air India moments happened during a standby duty. Both Sureiya and Rohit were assigned the same cab back home. Since they live together, the system had the same address for both of them.

The cab driver thought something had gone wrong and called the transport team to double-check. When the siblings got into the cab, he looked at them and joked, “When did Air India start hiring family packages?”

Talking about their bond, Rohit said that he loves when his sister calls him to ask if he has eaten and how his day went. Sureiya said that whenever she has long flights and Rohit has a day off, he would often cook for her.
