The situation is a bit tense, and here is what people need to know before planning to travel there.

Shillong Travel Disrupted Amid Ongoing Protests

According to The Times of India, travellers planning to visit Meghalaya or Assam might have to think twice before planning to travel there. Shillong is reportedly experiencing high tension and road disruptions after sudden violence during a protest rally. It is advised to postpone non-urgent road travel between Assam and Meghalaya until the situation improves.

Taxi services running between Guwahati and Shillong have been halted by an association of taxi drivers of Meghalaya due to safety reasons. Plus, disruptions have also been reported at Jorabat and Khanapara, the two major stopping points on the route between the two states. There are blockades on the roads, which are causing congestion.
