Bengaluru Is Hosting A Vada Pav Eating Competition
World Vada Pav Day is celebrated every year on August 23 to honour the iconic Maharashtrian street food snack. Loved by many, it is made of a spicy fried potato vada served inside two soft bread buns. Foodies enjoy it with spicy green or dry red chutney. To mark the special day, the Mumbai Pav Co. (MPC), a Bengaluru-based food brand, has come up with a competition many foodies would love to be a part of.
For the unversed, MPC is a popular food brand based in Bengaluru that specialises in authentic Mumbai-style street food. The city is getting its first-ever vada pav eating competition where you will get five minutes to eat as many vada pavs as you can. You can prove your appetite here, but remember that there will be just one “ultimate champion.”

Here Are The Rules & Prizes
According to the Instagram page of MPC, the competition will be held on August 23, 2026, at the Mumbai Pav Co. outlet in Gandhi Bazaar, Bengaluru. Here are the rules of the competition:
- A participant will get just five minutes to eat as many vada pavs as they can.
- The participant who eats the most vada pavs wins.
- All vada pavs must be completely chewed and swallowed when time is up.
- No sharing, spitting or customisation is allowed.
- In case there is a tie, the organisers will have a tie-breaker round to decide the winner.
Now, let’s talk about the winning prize! The “ultimate champion” or the winner will get ₹10,000 cash, along with a trophy and MPC records. Plus, the winning record will also get featured for one year at MPC outlets. People in the second and third place will be awarded a ₹1,000 MPC voucher. All participants will get an MPC medal each.
