“Most Unexpected Moment,” Woman On Delhi-Bengaluru Flight Served Captain’s Aloo Sabzi & Kachori

Delhi-Bengaluru Flight

A woman travelling on a Delhi-Bengaluru flight experienced something unexpected. Her request for an extra meal for her toddler led to an unusual surprise mid-air. She not only got another passenger’s meal but also ended up receiving the meal packed for the captain, which not everyone is lucky enough to get. Here’s how this happened.

Passenger Gets ‘Captain’s Meal’ On Delhi-Bengaluru Flight

A woman, Sony Singh, recently took to her Instagram account to share an incident that happened on her Delhi-Bengaluru flight. It was the “most unexpected flight moment” for her. She was flying with her toddler when she made a simple request to the flight attendant. Sony asked for an extra meal, only if available, because her toddler just wanted vegetables, and there were barely any in the meal box.

A little while later, the flight attendant came back with another box and handed it to Sony, who thanked her. But when she opened it, the meal was clearly labelled ‘Captain’s Meal’, which was unexpected. There was spicy kachori and aloo sabzi inside. Sony recalled the moment and wrote that she was thankful but also felt slightly embarrassed.

Aloo Sabzi & Kachori On Flight

Since the kachori and aloo sabzi were spicy and did not have many vegetables, her toddler could not eat them. Sony ended up enjoying the captain’s meal herself. This was clearly unexpected. Not every passenger gets a chance to enjoy a captain’s meal on a flight. You should know that a captain’s (pilot’s) meals are different from passenger meals, mainly for safety reasons.

Netizens also shared witty reactions under Sony’s post. One user wrote, “Somewhere someone was waiting for his meal… questions were asked!” A cabin crew member also commented, “As cabin crew, we used to swap crew meals with pax meals if we ran out of a particular option, i.e., veggie, and the crew member was happy eating a regular meal and wasn’t veggie themselves. Service recovery.”
