BMC Is Opening The Mrinaltai Gore Flyover Extension

Goregaon commuters are in for a major relief because the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is opening the Mrinaltai Gore flyover extension on May 31. As per Hindustan Times, this route is all set to reduce the traffic pressure between Goregaon East and Goregaon West.  Officials say travel time on this stretch may drop from around 30 minutes to just 5 minutes.

The flyover extension is 750 metres long and has been built at a cost of ₹200.75 crore. It connects routes like Borivali, Versova, and other western suburbs directly towards the Jogeshwari–Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR). Thanks to this upgrade, vehicles will be able to bypass three major traffic signals on SV Road.

More About This Flyover Extension Project

This flyover extension project is a part of the larger Mrinaltai Gore Flyover project. Authorities opened the main flyover in 2016. The project is now almost ready for public use. A civic official from the bridges department said that only one final step remains, arranging the electricity supply, which Adani Electricity will provide.

The extension is 15.5 metres wide, which gives enough space for vehicles to move without congestion. It has four lanes, so four rows of traffic can travel at the same time. This project has been delayed a lot over the years, but now it is finally ready to open.
