12-Car Non-AC Local Train Coming Soon In Mumbai
According to The Indian Express, Central Railway (CR) will soon launch a 12-car non-AC EMU train in Mumbai. This train is manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai and will be equipped with an Automatic Door Closure System. Currently, the rake is stationed at Kurla Car Shed. Reportedly, it will be introduced in passenger service after the authorities complete trial runs.
Not just that, the train will also undergo specialised tests to record dynamic parameters like speed, acceleration, oscillations, and ride quality. These tests will check safety, stability, and overall performance. The train will also go through passenger convenience and safety trials. These will check braking systems, passenger comfort, alarms, interlocking mechanisms, and whether the automatic door system works properly.

Automatic Doors, CCTV & Cushioned Seating & More
Now, let’s talk about the features of this new 12-car non-AC train coming soon in Mumbai. According to The Indian Express, the new rake is equipped with automatic sliding doors with an anti-drag system. This will improve passenger safety and prevent accidental falls. It will have stainless steel seating in second class and cushioned seating in first class.
The train is also designed with wider windows for better natural light. Apart from this, it has an improved ventilation system, emergency systems, evacuation features, and smoke and heat detection systems. The 12-car local train in Mumbai will also have CCTV cameras installed in all coaches for security and monitoring. All these features sound quite impressive, right?
