Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is an iconic film, and Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir is just as legendary for screening it continuously for nearly 30 years. The movie has been screened daily at 11:30 AM, but this long-standing tradition is now set to change at the iconic theater, thanks to the upcoming release of Dhurandhar 2.

Maratha Mandir Alters DDLJ Show Time For Dhurandhar 2

If you’re a Bollywood fanatic, then watching DDLJ at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir has to be on your bucket list! While the film made a generation of movie lovers fall in love with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, it also played a major role in turning this theatre into an iconic landmark. Now, they are all set to change the daily screening time of the film due to Dhurandhar 2 release.

According to Hindustan Times, to accommodate the runtime of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is nearly three hours and 55 minutes long, Maratha Mandir has decided to reschedule DDLJ to an earlier slot. The film, which has been screened daily at 11:30 AM, will now be shown from 10 AM starting March 19, the release date of Dhurandhar 2.

Upcoming Movie Gets 24-Hour shows

Hindustan Times reported that the upcoming Ranveer Singh starrer has sold around 15 lakh tickets across India in advance booking! Interestingly, about half of these are for the paid preview shows on March 18, a day before the actual release.

Reports suggest that major theatres across India are keeping a 4-hour 40-minute window for each show of Dhurandhar 2. This includes time for trailers, the interval, and the turnaround between shows. Keeping the film’s hype in mind, many theatres are adding post-midnight shows, running almost 24-hour shows!
