The Bengaluru branch of Old Original Vinayaka Mylari was recently inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. According to a report by The Hindu, it drew a long line of customers eager to relish soft masala dosas served with benne (white butter) and green sagu. Sounds tempting, right?
The iconic restaurant has been serving masala dosas since 1938. Their dosas are popular not just among locals, but also among celebrities and politicians. Bengaluru residents are excited to have this new outlet in Indiranagar. The dosas are unique, and a secret recipe makes them even more special.

A Secret Recipe Followed By The Family For Years
Usha Rani shared with The Hindu that her mother-in-law’s mother-in-law started the restaurant in 1938. The family has followed the same recipe for all these years. The sagu served with the dosas has remained unchanged and is a closely guarded secret. Fans had been asking the family to open a branch in Bengaluru. After many years, they have finally expanded. Today it’s Bengaluru; tomorrow it could be Mumbai or even Delhi!
The Bengaluru outlet is located on 80 Feet Road and is already seeing many foodies. According to The Hindu, the restaurant has two floors with seating upstairs. It has three dedicated kitchens and a self-service setup. The menu includes classics like Khali Dosa, Masala Dosa, Idli, Kesari Bath, and Filter Coffee.
