On social media, a video is going viral where we can see mirrors installed on Mysuru walls to stop people from peeing in public. This unique initiative has been taken by the Mysuru City Corporation. In the video posted by Vije (@vijeshetty) the spot seen in the video is located near the suburban bus stand and has become a common place for public urination. But wait! Instead of giving warnings or penalties, the authorities decided to try a different approach.

They covered the wall with a shiny steel mirror. The idea behind this move is simple. When a person tries to urinate there, they will see their own reflection. Honestly, it’s a smart and slightly humorous way to handle the issue. Sometimes a little embarrassment in front of yourself works better than strict rules or a warning. Also, the person walking from behind will also get to see the person’s shameless act.

This video showing Mysuru’s authorities’ unique approach to dealing with people urinating in public has gone viral. While many are reposting it, some are also reacting to the video.

A user commented, “But that also needs a massive workforce to monitor. The only way is by improving civic sense.”

Another user added, “I know this place. There is a public toilet just 50 metres away, but people don’t go there.”

One netizen appreciated the idea, saying, “Great idea. It would give you the impression that you are peeing on yourself. And then there is the privacy issue too. Brilliant!”

Another user raised a concern, writing, “There are public toilets, but people don’t use them. This is a great idea, but my only concern is that vehicle drivers might get distracted by the reflections of other vehicles.”
