Aerodrome License Granted To Noida Airport

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted an aerodrome licence to Yamuna International Airport Private Limited. What does this licence mean? According to Construction World, this licence allows the company to operate the upcoming Noida International Airport located in Jewar, in the Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

The airport project is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG. Authorities are building the airport under a public–private partnership between the governments of Uttar Pradesh and India. Several Key Features At The Airport

The airport has a runway aligned in the 10/28 direction, and it measures 3,900 metres long and 45 metres wide. Engineers have installed systems like the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL), which help pilots land safely even in low visibility.

As per Construction World, the apron area has space to park multiple aircraft at once, including 24 parking stands for Code C aircraft and two stands for larger Code D or Code F aircraft. In addition, the airport has Category 9 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) facilities, which means it is equipped to handle emergencies involving large aircraft.

The airport’s safety systems are capable of handling large wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 777-300ER. Advanced navigation systems and modern ground lighting will help aircraft move safely on the runway and taxiways at all times.

The Noida International Airport project is being developed in four phases. In the first phase, the airport will have one runway and one passenger terminal. They are designed to handle around 12 million passengers every year. As later phases are completed, the airport will be able to handle upto 70 million passengers annually.
