1. Dasheri
One of the famous varieties of mangoes that is widely known is the Dasheri mango. The mangoes, originating in the Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh, are known for their deliciousness and nutrient-rich content. Dasheri mangoes are a wonderful source of zinc, vitamin E, calcium and iron. These mangoes are one of the most popular varieties of mangoes found in India.
2. Langra
The Langra mango, also known as the Bensarasi Langra, was first cultivated in Uttar Pradesh, India, around 250-300 years ago. This cultivar retains a greenish tinge while ripening. The Langra mango gained popularity on the international market around 2006. This variety of mango is considered suitable for slicing and canning.
3. Chausa
Another variety that is produced in Uttar Pradesh is the Chausa mango. Chausa has quite thick stone, and the flesh is a light yellow. It is a very popular mango and is consumed all across India.
4. Banganapalle
Also known as the ‘King of Andhra Mangoes’, this variety of mangoes accounts for around 70% of the state’s production. It is popular because of its large size and delicious taste.
5. Suvernarekha
Another must-try variety that is produced in Andhra Pradesh is the ‘Chinna Suvernarekha’, which is quite popular in the Visakhapatnam region of the state.
6. Peddarasam
Pedda Rasalu or Peddarasam is a highly juicy mango variety produced in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, India. Known for its intense sweetness and aroma. These mangoes are also considered superior to Alphonso in terms of nectar.
