Six Eco-Tourism Sites Planned At Satkosia Tiger Reserve

Wildlife lovers, get ready to explore Satkosia Tiger Reserve, Odisha, in a new way. According to The Times of India, six new eco-tourism destinations are being planned across the reserve’s two divisions: Mahanadi and Satkosia. This integrated eco-tourism project will develop the entry points of these wildlife divisions into tourist hubs for those who visit to spot big cats and other animals.

Reportedly, authorities are planning interpretive centres, arrival plazas, restrooms, and even canteens for day tourists. These six sites will be developed under the Centre’s Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment. Out of these six sites, two (Chhamundia and Kusang) are located in the Mahanadi division. The remaining four( Purunakote, Jagannathpur, Baliput, and Tikarpada) are in the Satkosia division.

New Facilities At The Reserve

According to The Times of India, officials are focusing on improving the arrival plazas. These entry points will offer rest areas for visitors and give them an overview of the reserve. The plazas will include interpretation centres with pictures and videos. They will also have knowledge centres that provide detailed information about the sanctuary. This sounds amazing, right?
