Breathalysers Tests & Extensive CCTV Surveillance
DCP (Traffic) Shashank Jaiswal told The New Indian Express that checks were conducted at strategic locations, vulnerable stretches and major junctions. This year, the traffic management division worked in coordination with local police units. The drive focused on curbing drunk driving, triple riding on two-wheelers, wrong-side driving, speeding, motorcycle stunts and other violations that often lead to serious accidents.
As per a report by Business Standard, breathalyser tests were carried out at multiple checkpoints throughout the night. Police teams also rotated locations to prevent motorists from dodging checks. The drive was supported by extensive CCTV surveillance and real-time coordination among district control rooms. This helped monitor crowd movement and ensured a quick response to incidents.
