Pavitra Rishta Actress Priya Marathe Passes Away At 38; Succumbs To Cancer

Priya Marathe, an Indian actress best known for her roles as Varsha in the hit television show Pavitra Rishta and as Bhavani Rathod in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, has sadly passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 38 years old and was married to Shantanu Moghe, a Marathi film actor. 

Actress Priya Marathe Passes Away After A Long Battle With Cancer 

Known for her role as Varsha in Pavitra Rishta, actress Priya Marathe has reportedly passed away after fighting cancer for a long time. As per a report by Times Now, she had been undergoing treatment for this life-threatening disease for some time. Despite that, her condition continued to weaken, and she could not recover from the illness.

She was married to Shantanu Moghe, a Marathi film actor. Reportedly, she breathed her last at her residence in Mira Road, Mumbai, in the early hours of August 31, 2025. The news of her passing has deeply saddened her fans, with many taking to social media to pay their condolences.

She Leaves Behind Memorable Performances 

Priya Marathe, born on April 23, 1987, in Mumbai, was not just a talented actress but also a well-known comedian. She also appeared in the first season of Comedy Circus apart from working in Pavitra Rishta and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. Moreover, she also played Vidya Bali in Kasamh Se, Jyoti Malhotra in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, and Priya Mohite in Tu Tithe Me, along with several other roles.

Her acting debut came with the Marathi series Ya Sukhano Ya, which aired on Zee Marathi in 2007. She went on to star in Char Divas Sasuche and Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe. Her memorable performances on television left a lasting connection with the audience, and her untimely death is a significant loss to the industry.
