“Pehchana Nahi?” Rapido Rider Sends Late Night Texts To Woman; Company Responds & Apologises

Rapido Bike Rider

Rapido is India’s largest app-based taxi service. It offers affordable and quick intra-city transportation. But recently, a woman from Ghaziabad alleged that a Rapido bike rider sent her inappropriate messages after completing the trip. The company has now responded to the situation.

Rapido Bike Rider Sends Inappropriate Messages To Woman

Many people rely on the Rapido for daily commuting. But recently, a woman, Anushka from Ghaziabad, did not have a great experience with the app. According to her post on Instagram (@aanu_shka3), which is now going viral, she had booked a Rapido bike ride. After completing the trip, the rider started texting her on WhatsApp late at night with a message saying “hey”.

When the woman asked who it was, the rider replied with messages like “Pehchana nahi? Abhi to drop karke aaya hu.” (Did you not recognise me? I just dropped you.) That’s not all. According to screenshots shared by the woman, the rider also sent messages commenting on how “cute” she looked. The rider also asked her questions like “Do you live alone?”, her age and even asked her to meet the next day at 4 pm.

Rapido Responds To The Incident

The woman did the right thing and blocked the rider. The company took notice of the situation and responded in the comment section. They apologised for the rider’s unethical behaviour. They also wrote, “This is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the service standards we aim to provide. Please share your registered mobile number and ride ID via DM so we can investigate this on priority and take strict necessary action.”

Netizens were quite furious and shared their opinions. Some women also alleged that similar incidents have happened to them in the past. This incident is undoubtedly a little scary. Bike riders are meant to ensure safe travel, not send inappropriate messages late at night.
