Before getting into all the details, let us tell you that Bharat Vandana Park is a recreational park spread across 200 acres of land in Dwarka. The park has been designed in the shape of a lotus with ten petals. Each petal will represent a different theme and activity zone. As per a report by The Times of India, the park will feature a cultural arena, adventure zone, and eco zones. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is also planning art and craft corners, local cuisine hubs, and lake-view restaurants inside the park. An X user, @DetoxTravellerr, posted some aerial images of the under-construction park on their social media handle.
People can also expect leisure spaces and performance areas around a central lake named ‘Vandana Sarovar’. But that’s not all, authorities are also planning sky bridges to connect these zones. There will be water canals too. The major highlight of the park will be an 18-metre-high Pylon Bridge featuring a 1.2 km skywalk. This bridge will be supported by nine pylons, each standing 40 metres tall.

A Portion To Open By December End
Authorities had initially targeted December 2023 as the completion deadline for this portion of Bharat Vandana Park. Later, it was moved to March 2025. But now, a portion of the park is expected to open to the public by year’s end. A DDA official told The Times of India that deck fabrication is complete, and the team is giving final touches to civil, horticulture, and landscape work. Work on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is also underway.
By December end, the meditation zone, Vandana Sarovar, fun park, lake-view restaurants, and boating facilities will be open to the public. The remaining zones, including the cultural, adventure, gardens, and eco zones, are scheduled for completion by early 2026. Authorities are aiming to open the entire park by March next year.

The project is being executed by the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) with DDA as the nodal agency. Once fully operational, the park will serve as a major green hub for Delhi residents. It will feature play areas, boating facilities, cycling tracks, an amphitheatre, and so much more. Rainwater harvesting is also being incorporated into the park through six underground storage tanks, making it eco-friendly!
