2. Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh

Chitrakoot in Madhya Pradesh is said to be where Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana spent a major part of their 14-year exile. It is also a place where Bharat met Rama and urged him to return to Ayodhya. Ram Ghat, Kamadgiri Hill and Gupt Godavari are among its most important sites.
