Amid the ongoing Middle East crisis, there is some news that will give everyone some relief. Flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi have begun landing in India as airlines resumed limited operations after days of suspension. Not just that, IndiGo is now also planning relief flights for stranded citizens. Here’s more on this latest update.
Flights Resume Amid Middle East Crisis
According to a report by News18, an Emirates flight EK500 landed at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The first flight from Abu Dhabi landed at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Amid the ongoing Middle East crisis, another flight from Abu Dhabi also landed safely at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. It was one of the four evacuation flights arranged by Etihad to India.
According to a report by ABP Live, airlines have confirmed that select operations will now be started. The Dubai Government’s Media Office has announced that flydubai will be operating a limited number of flights. Meanwhile, Emirates will also restart a small number of services for customers who already had bookings.

IndiGo To Operate Special Relief Flights
Not just Dubai, but India is also stepping up its efforts for stranded citizens in the Middle East. According to News18, the Civil Aviation Ministry has announced that IndiGo will undertake 10 special relief operations from Jeddah on March 3. These special services will help stranded passengers, subject to required approvals and airspace conditions. These IndiGo flights are being planned in coordination with the Consulate General of India at Jeddah. Apart from this, foreign airlines operating between India and the Gulf region are also conducting limited flights.
It should be noted that Air India has extended the temporary suspension of all its Middle East flights until 11:59 pm on March 3. The airline will assist affected passengers with refunds or complimentary rescheduling. Its flights to the US, Canada, Europe and the UK remain unaffected.
