Every time we walk through the airport terminals, we end up thinking twice before spending even on a cup of tea or coffee because of those ever-rising prices. But that might be changing. A recent viral video of the Pune International Airport shows the newly launched Udan Yatri Cafe, where snacks and drinks are sold at much cheaper prices that could genuinely surprise you. Here’s everything you should know about the new Udan Yatri Cafe.

All About The Udan Yatri Cafe

Udan Yatri Cafe is a government initiative that is specifically designed to provide affordable food and beverages to travellers at airports. This initiative started after Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha raised the issue in Parliament about the high prices of basic food items at the airport.

The viral video was shared by IIT Bombay alumnus Piyush Tripathi, who was travelling with his wife from the Pune International Airport. In the video, he was seen casually asking his wife, “Samosa khaogi airport par?” After which, he showed the new Udan Yatri Cafe situated inside the airport, which is selling samosas for ₹20 and water for ₹10.

After the couple picked up two cups of tea and samosas. He filmed the video asking his wife, “Kiski wajah se hua hai ye?” To which she replied, “Raghav Chadha”. Further, he joked and asked, “Kaisa lagta hai, Raghav Chadha?” and his wife humorously replied, “Handsome.”

Sharing the video, he wrote, “Expectation: Airport + mehenga. Reality: Rs 20 samosa + Rs 10 chai. Fact check passed.”
