Delhi Wakes Up To Rain
Amid lingering winter conditions, several parts of Delhi-NCR woke up to light rainfall. As per Hindustan Times, temperatures in the region are expected to dip further over the next 24 hours, with today’s minimum at 12°C and the maximum hovering around 19°C. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by rain due to an active western disturbance impacting the region.
Besides bringing down the temperature, the rainfall offered brief relief from the dry spell gripping Delhi-NCR. IMD also mentioned that more showers are expected later in the day. The rain comes as a welcome change, especially after Delhi recorded its warmest January day in seven years on January 22, when the mercury soared to 27.1°C, The Indian Express reported.
