At least 20 people lost their lives and several were injured after a truck carrying gravel rammed head-on with a state-run road transport corporation (RTC) bus in Telangana. The speeding truck was travelling on the wrong side of the road when the tragic collision happened on Monday morning.
Fatal Truck And Bus Collision Claims 20 Lives In Telangana

According to Hindustan Times, the RTC bus was carrying 70 passengers and was on its way to Hyderabad when a speeding truck collided and fell on the bus near Telangana’s Mirzaguda village in Chevella. Briefing about the incident, the local police mentioned that the collision was so severe that the truck’s gravel toppled onto the bus, trapping several passengers inside.
Several eyewitnesses also reported that many passengers were crying for help when locals reached to rescue them. At least 20 people, including the drivers of both the RTC bus and the truck, were killed in this devastating truck bus collision in Telangana. Emergency teams rushed to the spot of the accident soon after with three JCB excavators. As part of the rescue operation, they removed the debris and pulled out those trapped inside.

Several Left Injured After The Devastating Road Accident
Hindustan Times reported that several people were severely injured in the truck bus collision in Telangana. They were taken to the Chevella Government Hospital, and those critically injured were later shifted to hospitals in Hyderabad. The police fear that the death toll may rise as many people sustained serious injuries.
As per reports, the RTC bus was travelling to Hyderabad from Tandur. Of the 70 passengers, most were students and office-goers returning to the city after the weekend. Traffic on the Hyderabad–Bijapur highway came to a halt after the accident, causing long queues of vehicles along the Chevella–Vikarabad route.
An investigation to know more about the accident has been launched. So far, overspeeding, loss of control, and wrong-side driving have been identified as the causes of this unfortunate accident.
