London commuters will now get a rare chance to take a look back in time as the famous and historic Tube trains are set to return to the underground network next month. Read on to know more about the historic Tribute train.

London’s Tribute Train To Return From May

As per a report by NDTV, historic Tube trains are set to return to the underground network next month. People will now be able to ride a 1930s Art Deco train from the May Bank Holiday weekend to mark the dark blue line’s 120th anniversary. The 1938 stock was the first type of Tube train to have all its electrical equipment beneath the floor. Additionally, it ran on several of the city’s deep-level underground routes for almost 50 years. The Tribute train features wooden-framed windows and red and green upholstery and promises to take you back to the era before World War II.

As per the news portal, the heritage journeys offer three different options and will take place on the Piccadilly Line. It will run through some of the oldest tunnels in the entire underground network. On May 2, these carriages will run between Northfield and the Heathrow Loop, and each journey will last approximately 45 minutes and will start and end at the same location.

Tickets, Routes & More

The tickets will be available for trips between Cockfosters and Northfields from 3rd to 4th May. Every route on this train includes a return journey, so you will finish where you began. Each of these rides will take 70 minutes in total. There are gold and bronze ticket options available while booking the seats. The gold ticket allows you to travel at the front in the first carriage and costs ₹3,700 for adults and ₹2,500 for children. For the middle and rear carriages of the train, you need to buy bronze tickets. These are priced at ₹3,141 for adults and ₹1,884 for children, and kids under the age of three can travel free on all routes.

The regular Oyster card will not work for the Tribute train journeys, and passengers will have to book tickets in advance.
