Coming out of Mumbai International Airport and looking for private cabs — only to find them at high costs — feels frustrating, doesn’t it? Many travellers have already pointed out how cab prices shoot up because of waiting and parking charges added to the total bill. To avoid such situations, a social media user recently shared an affordable travel hack for those heading to or from Navi Mumbai to Mumbai Airport. Read on to know what exactly it is.

Affordable Travel Hack Between Mumbai Airport & Navi Mumbai

An X (formerly Twitter) user, Arindam Mahapatra (@Maha7Arindam), took to his account to share an affordable travel hack. He posted cab booking app pictures with a caption, “People travelling to Navi Mumbai from the Airport and vice versa, please use the Aqua Line 3 and travel to BKC Metro station from T1/T2. I myself did this, and the difference in fare is attached in screenshots below.”

According to his hack, passengers can take Mumbai Metro’s Aqua Line 3 from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 to reach the BKC Metro Station instead of booking a cab directly to Navi Mumbai. In the pictures posted by him, we can clearly see the fare comparison, showing a massive difference between cab fares and the metro route. While a cab ride from the airport to Navi Mumbai cost him ₹1,089 via Uber, the same trip using the metro route came down to just ₹559 — almost half the price. For the return journey, the difference was significant as well, with the cab costing ₹669, while if you take the metro and then a cab, it will cost you ₹509.

One user wrote, “Money and time saving too.”

Another user added, “You’re saving 270 rupees from airport parking charges right away.”

One netizen humoursly wrote, “Bro, why Uber, just do some time travel into the future and take the Gold line, it will be the cheapest option.”

One X user commented, “Just a note that all these fares are before the demand. Once demand rises, the fares will too. I hope there’s a shuttle planned on the same line as the metro line until the metro doesn’t come to reality.”

So, next time when you are travelling to and from Mumbai International Airport and Navi Mumbai, don’t forget to try this hack.
