In Delhi, the metro is the lifeline. It has made travel easier across Delhi-NCR, and an unexpected disruption can leave people stranded. Ahead of a proposed protest at Jantar Mantar, security arrangements were tightened in Delhi. Due to this, commuters travelling on the Delhi Metro faced difficulties. Scroll down for the details!
Why Delhi Metro Travellers Are Facing Trouble?
On the instructions of the Delhi Police, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) earlier restricted entry and exit at 12 busy metro stations in central Delhi. This made it difficult for students, office-goers and others to travel to different parts of Delhi. The restrictions were taken down Friday night.
But it didn’t last long! According to Jagmarg report, on Saturday morning, October 3, officials received reports of a possible protest at Jantar Mantar and imposed restrictions on entry and exit at New Delhi Metro Station again.

How Many Commuters Travel To Delhi Via The Green Line?
As per Jagmarg, around 2 lakh commuters travel to Delhi every day by taking metro trains from Brigadier Hoshiar Singh, Bahadurgarh City or Pandit Shriram Sharma. The restricted metro stations can be a problem for you if you’re travelling to Connaught Place, Parliament Street, ITO or New Delhi Railway Station. Don’t forget to check alternative plans!
Commuters who couldn’t get down at Rajiv Chowk or other affected stations had to take autos or cabs instead. The expensive fares added to their travel frustration. Traffic jams caused by security checks also made it take longer to reach their destinations.
Make sure you plan your travel in Delhi carefully!
