A South Korean woman has accused an airport staffer at Bengaluru Airport of sexually harassing her under the pretext of “manual frisking” after she already cleared her mandatory security check. The woman alleged that the staffer touched her inappropriately. Following her complaint, the accused was arrested.
South Korean Woman Sexually Harassed At Bengaluru Airport
The airline ground-handling staff member, identified as Mohammed Affann Ahmed, approached the South Korean woman at the international departure area of Bengaluru Airport on January 19. According to The Times of India, the man told the woman that there was an issue with her checked-in baggage and asked her to come with him.
He allegedly took her near the men’s washroom for a so-called “manual frisking,” despite her having already cleared the mandatory Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) frisking and immigration checks. Reports state that the accused touched the woman’s chest multiple times and also groped her private parts. When she objected, he allegedly hugged her, thanked her, and asked her to leave.

Case Registered, Man Taken Into Judicial Custody
As per the Times of India report, the South Korean woman has filed a complaint against the accused, and the airport officials have detained him. The Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru police have confirmed that the man had no authority to physically check passengers. In case of suspicion, he could have alerted the CISF, as only authorised female staff are allowed to frisk and check female passengers. The CCTV footage aligned with the South Korean woman’s account, and a case has been registered against him. He is currently under judicial custody.
