US Launches $1 Million Gold Card Visa Programme; Eligibility, How To Apply, & More Here

The United States has now officially unveiled President Donald Trump’s new Gold Card visa. It is a high-cost visa programme that grants residency to wealthy individuals and corporations ready to pay significant sums. Not just that, but the high cost is also America’s way to generate revenue for its economy. Here is everything you need to know about it.

US Launches Gold Card Visa Programme

The US Gold Card visa programme is now officially live. It aims to grant residency to wealthy individuals and corporations ready to pay a large amount of money. According to a report by India Today, authorities want to attract skilled foreign graduates and high-net-worth investors with this programme. The Gold Card costs $1 million (₹9 crore approx.) for individuals and $2 million (₹18 crore approx.) for corporate sponsors.

The application also has a $15,000 (₹13 lakhs approx.) processing fee. Successful applicants will receive lawful permanent residence under an EB-1 or EB-2 classification. According to a report by Live Mint, this initiative is not just a revenue-generating move but also a tool to welcome successful entrepreneurs, investors, and highly valued professionals into America. Applicants must go through strict financial thresholds and federal security screening to secure the US Gold Card visa. Approved applicants will receive US residency once all eligibility requirements are met. Federal authorities will also conduct thorough background checks.

Strict Screening For Applicants

According to Live Mint, this visa acts as a simplified pathway to US citizenship for those who can contribute economically. The application process is simple as well. Individuals must first submit an application to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with the non-refundable $15,000 processing fee. This covers administrative costs before the full vetting process begins. After approval, the candidate must pay the $1 million or $2 million fee, depending on the visa application.

Applications are open on the programme’s official website: trumpcard.gov. The process begins after candidates submit their personal details and pay the processing fee. The US may also introduce a higher-tier Platinum Visa priced at $5 million soon.

This Gold Card visa is also America’s way to retain highly skilled graduates from US universities, especially those from China, India, and Korea. Many businesses lose these people because of uncertain visa status. This programme aims to remove that barrier and offer a direct route to permanent residency. But the cost? It’s extremely high.
