On the occasion of World Vada Pav Day, Mumbai Pav Co. in Bengaluru hosted a Vada Pav Eating Competition. A man won the competition by eating 10 vada pavs in five minutes and took home a nice cash reward. We are sure hearing about the competition will make you crave one vada pav too!

Bengaluru Man Wins The Vada Pav Eating Competition

Mumbai Pav Co. celebrated World Vada Pav Day on August 23 by organising Bengaluru’s first-ever Vada Pav Eating Competition. The foodies who participated got five minutes each to eat as many vada pavs as they could. One man won the game, and how! According to the Instagram video posted by Sudha Rao (@virtual_diary.1), he gobbled up 10 vada pavs in the given time and took home a cash reward of ₹10,000!

We are totally impressed with his eating capacity! Because honestly, eating a vada pav may sound easy, but it’s not. The vada pavs are spicy, laden with gunpowder and can be quite difficult to eat. Finishing 10 of them under five minutes is definitely not easy. But the energy of the competition was quite crazy. The competition attracted many foodies who competed for the first spot.

A Fun Way To Celebrate The Special Day

The video shows the players trying their best to eat vada pavs while the timer shows the remaining minutes on the table. The competition definitely marked the day with a fun event that celebrated the street food culture of Mumbai. The man who won must have definitely loved vada pavs a little too much to be able to chomp down 10 of them in under five minutes.

Vada pav is the most loved street food of Maharashtra. It consists of a spicy, deep-fried potato fritter tucked inside two soft buns with chutneys. The snack is considered the culinary pride of Mumbai and is enjoyed by not just daily wage earners but also celebrities.
