Influencer Sunil R, who posts under the name @maskedguyslife, has gone viral after highlighting passengers’ behaviour on a Vande Bharat train. The video begins by praising the train for its cleanliness and onboard services. Sunil shows newspapers being distributed to passengers, food being served, regular cleaning and staff collecting used trays and garbage. For most of the video, the train appears clean, organised and well maintained.
However, towards the end, the influencer turns the camera towards the litter left behind by some passengers. Garbage can be seen under seats and in parts of the coach, despite dustbins being available and staff regularly collecting waste. The contrast between the well-maintained train and the behaviour of some passengers sparked a debate online. The video has garnered nearly 8 million views and attracted thousands of comments, with several users expressing disappointment over the littering.

As the discussion grew, Sunil clarified that his video was not meant to criticise Vande Bharat or Indian Railways but rather to highlight the contrast between the train’s well-maintained interiors and the behaviour of some passengers. He praised the train for being modern, comfortable and clean, while noting that staff regularly collected used trays and garbage, making the litter left behind by passengers even more frustrating.
He pointed out that with dustbins available and staff frequently collecting waste, leaving rubbish on seats, inside seat pockets or on the floor was difficult to justify. Sunil also said that littering continues to be a common issue across public spaces in India, including roads, railway stations, beaches and tourist destinations.
