If Stranger Things fever has gripped you, and you’re already counting the days for Volume 2, then you’re not alone! Will has powers. There’s no stopping Vecna. And the mysteries of the Upside Down are yet to be unravelled. As chatter around the cult Netflix show and the conspiracy theories has taken over social media, one Indian content creator’s observation skills have left desi fans and foodies amused. The influencer hilariously feels Vecna looks like Kanda Bhaji (onion pakora), and we can’t unsee it! Check it out!
Stranger Things’ Vecna Resembles India’s Kanda Bhaji!
Content creator Yash Kapse recently shared a reel that both Stranger Things fans and foodies can relate to. Kapse’s reel has him visiting a street food stall and noticing a heap of Kanda Bhaji aka onion pakoras, by the glass case. The text on his latest reel reads:”Now whenever I eat Kanda Bhaji it reminds me of this guy…” Kapse adds a picture of Vecna, the deep-voiced villain of Stranger Things, played by actor Jamie Campbell Bower.
In his video, the content creator orders Kanda Bhaji Pav, looks at it admiringly and takes a big bite. To Yash Kapse, Kanda Bhaji resembles Vecna— the menacing villain that hails from the Upside Down, known for preying on his victims using mind control. Covered in tree-like vines that resemble knotty branches and roots of twisted trees, in Season 5, the antagonist appears thinner and more skeletal. A combination of great costume design and CGI gives him that aggressive yet scary look.
Netizens Want “Ek Plate Vecna” Not Chakna
Kanda Bhaji made with thinly sliced onions, is crispy with twisted, crunchy edges. Golden brown and tempting, it goes perfectly well tucked between Pav. Yash Kapse is a fan of Kanda Bhaji Pav and Stranger Things, and this street food dish is a perfect ode to the show’s most menacing villain. The reel which garnered over 80,000 views has Netizens’ minds blown over the food reference.
A person commented, “Vecna bhaji – new category.” Another said they’d prefer Vecna over “Chakna” (snacks). “Ek plate Vecna dena,” is another Instagrammer’s new food order. It’s not just the content creator, another person also said he remembers onion pakoras every time he sees Vecna.
