Boeing 787 Jetliner Suffers Nose-Wheel Collapse
As per a report by India Today, a few staff members were injured when the nose gear of a Boeing 787 jetliner suddenly collapsed at a gate at Frankfurt airport, an airport spokesperson told the portal, they also revealed that more details of the incident were still being assessed. For those who don’t know, the nose gear of the aeroplane is the front landing wheel assembly and offers front weight support, straight-line steering and shock absorption.
As per Bloomberg News, a company spokesperson said in an emailed statement that passengers were not boarded when the incident took place, further adding that crew members and ground staff were on board the aircraft at the time of the incident. Additionally, several staff members were injured and are currently undergoing medical treatment.

Viral Video Indicates Sudden Collapse
As per the reports, there were several emergency vehicles parked around the two-engine broad-body aircraft, which partially lay on its belly.
Lufthansa stated that the incident took place at 12:45 PM, and the aircraft was scheduled to take off for Los Angeles as flight LH450. But the flight was cancelled post the incident. The company also stated that they are currently investigating the exact reasons and circumstances that led to the incident with the relevant authorities.

The 787, including the 787-9 model operated by Lufthansa, is a somewhat new addition to the group’s fleet as it works to gradually retire older, less fuel-efficient aircraft and streamline its aircraft lineup.
