The video shared by VK Shetty on X reportedly shows a group of passengers occupying several seats while allegedly playing cards involving money during peak hours, when the train was already crowded. Travellers claim the occupation of multiple seats made it difficult for other passengers to find seating, with some reportedly struggling to find room to stand.
According to reports by NDTV, passengers have also alleged that certain pass holders routinely occupy seats meant for other commuters. Some have accused those seen in the video of using parts of the crowded train for money-based card games. Following the video’s circulation, commuters have called for railway authorities to investigate the matter and take appropriate action if the allegations are verified. They have also sought stricter enforcement against gambling and unauthorised occupation of seats on trains. Some passengers have urged the matter to be brought to the attention of the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) for investigation.
