A stunning 65-foot-high Trishul (trident) with a Damarukam was inaugurated recently at Kailasagiri hilltop in Visakhapatnam. The towering structure has been installed to boost tourism in the region. The 65-foot Trishul is visible from several parts of the city, especially during the night when the LED lights up the Vizag skyline.
Vizag Gets A Stunning 65-Foot Trishul At Kailasagiri Hilltop
The 65-foot Trishul with a Damarukam in Visakhapatnam was installed after offering special prayers to Lord Shiva and following all rituals. The Kailasagiri hilltop is already famous for its statues of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati. With the addition of this new Trishul, the place is expected to attract many more tourists, especially devotees of Lord Shiva. According to The Times of India, the structure was built by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA).
The Trishul is visible from several parts of the city. It looks exceptionally stunning at night when the LED lights up the Vizag skyline. Authorities spent nearly ₹3 crore on the structure. Plus, it has been designed to withstand strong wind speeds of up to 250 kmph. Official X page of VMRDA also shared a video showing the 65-foot Trishul.

Trishul Expected To Become A Symbol Of Tourism
According to The New Indian Express, the structure was inaugurated by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana, MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, and Visakhapatnam MP Matukumilli Sribharat. Authorities also developed a special pathway zone and tourist-friendly facilities at the site. The 65-foot Trishul is expected to become an iconic symbol of Visakhapatnam tourism.
Apart from this, authorities are planning several more projects to develop Kailasagiri into a global tourist destination. The plan is to integrate Kailasagiri, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, and Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary into one unified tourism hub. The main aim is to make Visakhapatnam a destination where tourists can easily spend four to five days experiencing spirituality and nature.
