A new trend is going viral on social media, where Gen Z is clubbing, but with a devotional twist. In this trend, Gen Z and millennials sit in dimly lit halls, cross-legged on the floor, swaying and clapping to bhajans. Unlike, silent prayer sessions, these cosy jam nights or mini music gigs blend devotional songs with electronic beats.
Backstage Siblings (@backstagesiblings) are among the few leading this unique trend in India. During their sessions, young people gather to sing along to devotional tunes like Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari. In other clips, the crowd can be seen enthusiastically chanting Ram Ram Jai Raja Ram. So far, such events have taken place in major cities like Mumbai, and Kolkata — and it wouldn’t be surprising if this soulful trend soon spreads to more cities across the country.
