What Is Bhajan Clubbing? How Gen Z Is Turning Spirituality Into India’s Next Big Trend
Gen Z has brought a whole new twist to spirituality with bhajan clubbing! In this, people sit together, sing Lord Krishna and Lord Rama bhajans, and jam like it’s a chill club night. They’re blending devotion with a modern energy, making spirituality feel cool, inclusive, and totally relatable.
If you thought Gen Z was all about clubbing and parties, while pujas and bhajans were only for the older generation, think again. Today’s youth has flipped that idea. They’re blending devotion with good vibes through what’s now called ‘bhajan clubbing’, and this trend is quickly catching on among young people. Keep reading to know what exactly bhajan clubbing is.
Bhajan Clubbing: Gen Z’s Way Of Clubbing & Socialising
A new trend is going viral on social media, where Gen Z is clubbing, but with a devotional twist. In this trend, Gen Z and millennials sit in dimly lit halls, cross-legged on the floor, swaying and clapping to bhajans. Unlike, silent prayer sessions, these cosy jam nights or mini music gigs blend devotional songs with electronic beats.
Backstage Siblings (@backstagesiblings) are among the few leading this unique trend in India. During their sessions, young people gather to sing along to devotional tunes like Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari. In other clips, the crowd can be seen enthusiastically chanting Ram Ram Jai Raja Ram. So far, such events have taken place in major cities like Mumbai, and Kolkata — and it wouldn’t be surprising if this soulful trend soon spreads to more cities across the country.
We believe that Gen Z grew up with playlists, pop culture, and short-form content. They understand rhythm and vibe. So they are using those same elements to make spirituality look and feel modern. Bhajan clubbing is not here to remove tradition. It is simply presenting devotion in a way that feels relatable to young people.
The idea of bhajan clubbing proves that spirituality is not going anywhere; it is just evolving. Gen Z is showing that devotion does not need to be limited to temples or family rituals. Thus, it is not surprising that bhajan clubbing is picking up so fast. It is just connecting old traditions with new.
