Our favourite couple, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, are now married, and we can’t keep calm! Coconut Ritual In Rashmika Mandanna & Vijay Deverakonda’s Wedding

In Telugu weddings, the Pelli Kobbari Bondam, which is a beautifully decorated tender coconut, is very special. The bride carries it while walking to the muhurtham, or wedding stage, just like Rashmika Mandanna did. It is believed that she is bringing God’s blessings into her new life. Isn’t that such a beautiful and meaningful moment to witness?

The coconut also stands for purity, fertility, and a happy future for the couple. It is seen as a sign of a fresh and sacred beginning. In fact, it’s hard to imagine a traditional Telugu bride without a kobbari bondam in her hand.

Other Rituals In A Telugu Wedding

From Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda’s Telugu wedding, we saw many beautiful traditions, and every detail in their look had meaning. For example, the thread on their forehead is called Basikam. It is usually made of pearls, beads, flowers, or zari. Worn across the forehead, it stands for purity, togetherness, and protects the couple from the evil eye.

You might have also noticed the small black dot on their faces. It is called Disti Chukka, which is like a nazar ka tikka. It is applied to protect both the bride and groom from the evil eye. Then there is the Ring Atta ritual, where the bride and groom are given three chances to find a ring in a bowl. The one who finds it most times is said to rule the marriage in a fun way.

It’s so beautiful to see how simple rituals hold special meanings!
