Mumbai Airport handles thousands of domestic and international travellers every single day. Over the years, it has earned a reputation for smooth services. And it’s not just us saying this — travellers clearly agree. Now, the airport has been named Asia-Pacific’s Best Airport for Departures in the over 40-million passengers category at the 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Customer Experience Awards. Big win, right?
Mumbai Airport As Asia-Pacific’s Best Airport For Departures
All the hard work to improve the travel experience has finally paid off. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) received this award from Airports Council International (ACI) under its globally recognised ASQ programme. What makes this win even more special? As per NDTV, the ranking is based completely on passenger feedback collected throughout the year.
This award shows that CSMIA is doing a great job when it comes to departures. From entering the terminal and checking in to security, boarding, shopping, food options, cleanliness, and helpful staff — the entire journey was evaluated. And clearly, passengers loved the experience.

Upgraded Services At The Airport
The Mumbai Airport has also paid a lot of attention to upgrading the infrastructure. According to NDTV, the navigation inside the terminals is made easier with clearer signboards, and cleanliness standards are kept high. Travellers can relax at premium lounges or explore a wide range of shopping and dining options across both terminals. And if you’re looking for budget-friendly bites, the newly launched UDAN Yatri Café makes sure affordable food is easily available.
If you’re flying from terminal 2, there’s also something special waiting for you. You can walk through the 3.2-kilometre Artbeat of New India museum corridor, which showcases over 5,500 artefacts and more than 100 art installations. So while you’re heading for your flight, you also get a mini cultural tour, which is definitely an amazing way to start a journey.
