Swiggy is honestly moving forward with new innovations. Making a smart move, Swiggy Ltd, India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, has taken a major step in growth. As part of this move, customers can now order groceries, place food orders, or make dining reservations directly through popular AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, and others. Scroll down to know more!

Swiggy Starts Using MCP

Swiggy has introduced Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations across Swiggy Food, Instamart, and Dineout. But what is MCP?MCP is an open-source system that connects AI tools and chatbots to live data and services. It helps AI work safely with other apps. With MCP, Swiggy lets AI handle tasks that used to need many steps in the app.

How will it work? Users can simply type “Order ingredients for Thai green curry” or “Order a highly rated biryani.” The AI then finds options, compares restaurants or products, updates the cart, applies discounts, confirms addresses, places the order, and even tracks delivery. For Dineout, it can also check restaurant availability, apply offers, and book a table—all in one step.

How It Will Help In Future?

The best part? In the future, AI will help users with meal planning, health goals, dietary preferences, and shopping for special occasions — all while keeping data private and secure. Imagine wanting to cook a dish but not knowing the perfect recipe. AI could suggest recipes, pick the right ingredients for the number of people you’re serving, and even add them to your Instamart cart, making cooking and shopping easier than ever.

To connect an AI assistant, users can go to Settings, then click on Connectors and move to Add Custom Connector/App, enter a name for the connector, and provide the service URL. You can use any AI assistants like Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any agent of their choice.

Madhusudhan Rao, CTO of Swiggy, said, “India’s convenience needs are shaped by everyday routines and personal preferences. By bringing MCP to quick commerce, food delivery, and dining, we remove friction from daily decisions and make on-demand convenience effortless.”
