This one is for everyone who regularly uses quick commerce apps to order groceries and daily essentials. Zepto, one of India’s popular quick delivery platforms, has raised its delivery fee threshold and increased the minimum order value. Under the new structure, the company is working towards expanding its market value. Here’s what you need to know.
Zepto Raises Free Delivery Threshold
Free delivery is something that makes any online shopper happy. Let’s be honest, we all love shopping online but hate paying delivery charges. While some apps offer free delivery on all orders, others provide it only when the cart value crosses a certain amount. Zepto, one of India’s fastest-growing online grocery delivery apps, earlier offered free delivery on minimum orders of ₹99. But now, the threshold has been changed.
According to a report by The Financial Express, Zepto will now offer free delivery only if the cart total is at least ₹149. This marks an increase of over 50% from the earlier ₹99 limit. In simple terms, customers now need to add items worth ₹149 or more to avoid paying a delivery fee. For orders below this amount, Zepto will charge a ₹20 delivery fee, which has been reduced from the earlier ₹30.

No Surge & Handling Fees Above ₹149
Apart from changing the free delivery threshold, Zepto continues to waive handling fees, surge fees, convenience charges, tobacco fees, and late-night charges across all orders, regardless of the cart value. According to The Financial Express report, Zepto introduced these fee waivers in early November last year.
This move was part of the company’s strategy to rapidly expand its market share amid increasing competition in the quick commerce space. In short, customers placing orders below ₹149 will pay only ₹20 as a delivery fee, with no extra charges added. For orders above ₹149, all fees are waived entirely. This new change has placed Zepto as one of the most competitively priced apps in India’s 10-minute delivery market.
