Juggling Work And Home, Geeta Basra Says, “Having A Good Support System Is Very Important”

In the latest episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani had a hearty conversation with actress Geeta Basra, wife of former cricketer Harbhajan Singh. We enjoyed a delightful spread of Punjabi and Gujarati flavours and spoke to the actress about how she is juggling her work after a long break and home. Scroll down for more details.

Geeta Basra Talks About Juggling Work And Home

Between bites, Geeta Basra opened up about her professional life and how it was affected after she got married. She revealed that she lost four projects, and her acting career went down when she tied down the knot. But she managed and  juggled work and home, thanking her amazing support system in all the hard times. She said, “I think having a good support system is very important. Coming back into movies and working definitely needs support at home, where you know your kids are okay, and that’s having a great husband. Without that, I wouldn’t even think of going back to work.”

She also opened up about how Harbhajan Singh is great with kids and continued, “And you know, women in general, I think we are just great at multitasking. I mean, humare andar itni shakti hai that we don’t realise ourselves what we are capable of.” She pointed out that, along with managing her kids’ school and her husband’s work, she balances everything with her professional commitments.

How Did The Actress And Cricketer Meet?

When Kamiya asked the actress how she and her husband met, Geeta Basra said, “Long story short. He saw my poster for The Train, and he liked it. He was like, ‘Yeh ladki kaun hai?’” The former cricketer then got in touch with Yuvraj, who knew many people from the film industry. Later, with the help of a common friend, the couple met. The actress confessed that she refused several times, but the cricketer was persistent, and in their first meeting, he said that he would marry Geeta.
